It is my pleasure to offer a recommendation for Steve Duke, a Chef I have had the good fortune of working with on two occasions, first a joint birthday celebration for myself and my husband and then again to prepare a Christmas feast. I am pleased to confirm that on both occasions Chef Duke served mouth-watering food that we (both my guests and I) continue to rave about.

 Not only does Chef Duke deliver delicious food, he goes above and beyond to serve his clients which is unfortunately rare in a society today where money means everything and where people are less willing to do more without thinking of being compensated. 

During our meeting he created a custom canapé menu, arranged for a tasting and once we were thoroughly satisfied with the menu, he and his team arrived at our home to prepare and serve our guests.  It was a mouth-watering and unforgettable experience. 

 Chef Duke took the time to mingle with our guests while personally serving some of his canapé’s and explaining the various flavours infused therein. His passion for food and flavours are evident in the dishes he serves and his warm welcoming personality sets the stage for a culinary experience second to none.

 Chef Duke is not only an extraordinarily skilled chef but he is genuinely a “nice guy”, warm and welcoming and very easy to approach. The manner in which he conducts his business is rare as he still believes in (and practices) excellent customer service.

 My experience in dealing with Chef Duke has only been positive. Every interaction between ourselves have been productive; he is responsive, attentive, creative, professional and friendly.

I will without a doubt continue to sing his praises, utilize his services and most of all, and recommend him to all my personal and professional acquaintances in the future.

Steve, your culinary skills are a sensation. Your Crispy Japanese Fried Chicken, Slow braised Lamb Curry, Chorizo and Saffron Emulsion Croquettes and Mini Chocolate were simply astounding (as was EVERYTHING else).

Chef Steve is a culinary magician! His food is art and a delight to the palate! Beyond his gastronomic talents, he has a very generous heart. No Fixed Address Food Concept pulled off a virtuoso performance in catering a dinner party for fifty in our home, creating a warm and enduring memory for my husband and I and all of our guests that they are still talking about months later.

 

We first heard of Chef Steve after savouring his fare at an acquaintance’s summer dinner party. His creations were to say the least unique with a refreshing variety and combination of flavours. Being frequent hosts, we knew immediately that there was no further debate required as to who would cater our next party. Chef Steve’s prompt and complete response to our initial query was our first taste of his undisguised enthusiasm and love of what he does. Because he clearly listens to his client, he immediately created a unique culinary ensemble that perfectly fit our needs.

 

As the day of the event arrived, the overt professionalism and organizational skills of Chef Steve and his team at No Fixed Address exhibited up to that point allowed the worrier and micromanager in us to just relax, anticipate, and enjoy the evening that was about to unfold. All the details were taken care of, from the moment his team arrived until our home was left in spotless condition at the end of the evening.

 

Even the most discerning foodies on our guest list were taken aback by the impact Chef Steve’s eclectic, yet cohesive assortment of canapés that including a duo of prawns seared with chimichurri, roast cauliflower puree and warm chorizo dressing or on a crispy corn fritter with cashew nut chutney and fresh mint, Vietnamese pork and eggplant ragout and the roasted beets with a light pickle sever with avocado cream, grapefruit and hazelnut crumble to name but a few. By using the amount of chatter created after the evening as the true meter stick, the cadenza of the evening’s performance had to have been the quartet of gourmet tacos, with the crispy cod tacos with a chipolte remoulade, pickled cabbage and fresh cilantro served in a soft shell taco creating the greatest splash. The evening was rounded out by the soft tones dark chocolate mousse with raspberry coulis or sticky toffee pudding with a bourbon toffee sauce and whipped cream.

Chef Steve and No Fixed Address Catering created for our guests, a complete culinary experience that was truly without par and clearly raised bar for what we would hope to experience at any private expertly catered event that we might attend in the future . . . or we could just tell them to hire Chef Steve and not have to worry!

When I contacted Steve, not only did he discuss the exceptional menu options, he did a site visit to assess our premises In order to determine our needs and provide feedback for layout to maximize our space for guests.  Further, he looked after everything including labour, event rentals, et al.

 

On the day of the event, Steve’s team arrived earlier than anticipated and began work immediately. Within no time, our offices were filled with delicious aromas. Steve and his team provided the utmost of professionalism, exceptional service, and not only that the food was absolutely fantastic, Steve’s team blended fluidly with our guests with no obtrusion. Throughout the evening, our guests and staff numbering over 100, were very impressed with the vast selection of mouth-watering food. No one left on an empty stomach!
